The application consumes these read-only JSON contracts internally. External access is closed by default; every successful response identifies its source, latest available period and storage basis.
App-only by default
Direct /api/v1/* calls are disabled unless external access is deliberately enabled on the server. If enabled, callers must send an issued key in X-API-Key or Authorization: Bearer and are limited to 120 requests per minute per credential.

These endpoints expose public official records for research and reproducibility. Missing months and unsupported dimensions remain unavailable, zero remains a real published value, and passenger-car and LCV denominators are never mixed. Cache headers may serve validated records for a short period; consumers should retain the response source and reporting period with any downstream result.
